GP Technologies delivered a complete normal and emergency source substation protection and control solution — encompassing both utility-fed and generator-backed supply systems. The project scope spanned multiple protective relaying panels, generator and engine control upgrades, PLC-based bus transfer and generator control logic, and full remote SCADA integration.

SymCore Systems fabricated and installed all protection and control panels to UL 508A and CSA C22.2 No.14 standards, with GP Technologies engineering leading relay configuration, controller upgrades, and multi-phase site execution from initial design through commissioning.

Multi-Panel Protective Relaying
Multiple substation protective relaying panels engineered and fabricated to protect both normal utility and emergency generator sources — with coordinated relay settings developed and documented by licensed P.Eng. staff.

Generator & Engine Control Upgrades
Existing generator controllers, AVRs, and engine controllers upgraded and integrated into the new control architecture, ensuring seamless automatic transfer between normal and emergency sources with full generator supervision.

Bus Transfer & Generator Control Logic
PLC-based logic developed for automatic and manual bus transfer between normal and emergency sources, with generator start/stop sequencing, load management, and protection coordination fully programmed and tested in-house.

Touchscreen HMI Operation
Integrated touchscreen HMI provides operators with real-time visibility of both source status, bus configuration, generator state, and alarm annunciation — enabling safe local and remote operation of the complete system.

Remote SCADA Integration
Complete remote SCADA integration across all panels, enabling centralized monitoring and control of the normal and emergency source systems, with alarm management and historical data logging for both utility and generator feeds.

Multi-Phase Site Execution
Project executed in multiple coordinated phases to minimize impact on live facility operations — with GP Technologies and SymCore Services managing installation sequencing, commissioning, and handover across all phases.
