DER
SCADA
Panel

GP Technologies designed, procured, and commissioned a purpose-built DER SCADA panel supporting distributed energy resource interconnection requirements. The panel integrates an automation controller with a fully developed database, satellite-synchronized timekeeping, managed network switching, and remote SCADA connectivity — all in a single certified enclosure.

SymCore Systems fabricated the panel to UL 508A and CSA C22.2 No.14 standards at the Edmonton facility. Site commissioning was completed with utility (distribution wire owner) witness testing, satisfying DER interconnection compliance requirements.

Project Delivery

01
Control Panel Design
Purpose-built DER SCADA panel designed to house the complete automation and communications architecture required for DER interconnection — engineered for reliability, maintainability, and compliance with utility requirements.
02
Automation Controller Database
Full automation controller database developed in-house by GP Technologies engineers — including I/O mapping, communications configuration, SCADA point lists, and all logic required to support DER monitoring and control functions.
03
Satellite Synchronized Clock
GPS satellite-synchronized clock installed to provide precise time-stamping of events and data across the DER SCADA system — a standard requirement for utility-grade interconnection and disturbance recording compliance.
04
Network Architecture
Managed network switches configured to provide reliable, deterministic communications between the automation controller, SCADA host, and field devices — with network architecture designed to meet utility cybersecurity and availability requirements.
05
Remote SCADA Integration
Complete remote SCADA integration enabling the utility and facility operators to monitor DER status, alarms, and metering data in real time — with communications protocols and point configurations developed to utility specifications.
06
Utility Witness Testing
Site commissioning completed with formal utility (distribution wire owner) witness testing — validating all SCADA points, communications, time synchronization, and DER interconnection functions against utility acceptance criteria.
